Venetian eSplash 07 February 2019 – Swim Team 2019
2019 Season Swim Team Registration and Info:
The swim team has asked that the following go out to the membership:
Dear Venetian Swim team and Starfish,
Registration for Pool Sharks and for Starfish will become LIVE on Feb. 12 (Registration Link at end of message)
We are doing enrollment differently this summer from other years because of the length of our wait list. We will do it in stages until we reach our manageable size limit:
- Feb 12- 28: Registration for pool members, swim team members from last summer, and top 30 families from wait list
- March 1-14: Registration open for top half of wait list families.
- March 15-31: Registration open for bottom half of wait list families.
If you are interested in being on the team, please register as soon as you are able. You aren’t guaranteed a spot on the team, so please sign up ASAP. Your registration will be confirmed by one of the swim team coordinators to finalize it. All swim team participants must be current members of Venetian or have received a direct invitation from Venetian to those on the Waiting List.
We have a new swim coach this year, Beth Lewis. We would like to introduce you to her and encourage you to participate on the PoolSharks this summer. We are really excited to have her on-board and look forward to a fun season.
Stay tuned for more information to be sent out in the following weeks

Letter from Beth:
Dear Venetian –
I am thankful and excited for the opportunity to be the head coach of our Venetian Poolsharks this Summer 2019. Swimming has been an integral part of my life, from growing up swimming in the glacier formed Finger Lakes of Ithaca, NY, to being a captain at the University of Georgia, to today coaching my own children Isaiah (11), Naomi (6) and Olivia (10 months and future swimmer).
As families consider being a part of the Poolsharks this summer, here are the foundational goals that impact the direction of our team. I hope these goals will encourage each of you with children between the ages of 4-18 to be a part of our Pool Sharks this summer.
*having fun
*putting forth effort and working hard
*building friendships
*improving on a life skill (swimming is something we can do our whole lives)
*getting exercise and being fit
*learning how to set and achieve goals (team and individual)
*being part of a team, and neighborhood community
*demonstrating, receiving, and practicing good sportsmanship
*being able to help/receive help as a big/little buddy
