There’s a new Board in town and the VPCA By-Laws have a new look. At Wednesday’s Board meeting, Flip Hager, Jim Heffner, Matt Moore, and Angie Witz rotated off and Nancy Anastasiades, Michele Hicks, Lisa Crawford Mendoza, and Paul Thim joined. Lucie André has resigned after one year due to increasing work responsibilities. Rob Katz was chosen by the Board to serve the remainder of her term. The new Board Officers and Chairs are as follows (and they are looking for a few good men and women to serve on their committees):
President: Cheryl Graves
Vice-President: Lisa Crawford Mendoza
Secretary and Communications: Sophia Brothers Peterman
Treasurer and Ways and Means: Rob Katz
Membership: Nancy Anastasiades
Events: Michele Hicks
Activities: John Dean
Personnel: Adam Levy
Buildings, Construction, and Grounds: Paul Thim and Lisa Crawford Mendoza
Thanks to Flip, Jim, Angie, Matt, and Lucie for their service to our pool!
And there are two new amendments to the VPCA By-laws. Amendment 11, regarding one membership classification with long-term member and senior discounts, and Amendment 12, regarding pool employees and their family groups being able to be on the VPCA swim team and to enjoy the pool. The full text of these amendments is on the website under Voting Matters.
A clarification on the long-term member discount. The start time for the twenty year period is the year of the first annual membership for those who had annual memberships before becoming lifetime members.
The next Board meeting will be Monday, October 8, at 7 p.m. at 487 Burlington Road, NE, Atlanta.
Annual Meeting, this Monday, September 10, 7 pm
Be sure to come to the Annual Meeting this Monday, September 10, at 7 p.m. in the Dance Hall at the pool. We will be reviewing the past year’s activities, where we are now, and where we are headed in the future.
