Parking Lot Traffic Flow
Careful! Please observe the marked traffic flow in the parking lot. The parking lot exit is the most southern access on Scott Boulevard, the closest to downtown Atlanta. Be sure to not turn into this access when entering the parking lot from Scott Boulevard. And as tempting as it might be to do otherwise, it is one-way only going from the Merrill Street side of the lot to the main lot. Help keep our parking lot safe and avoid accidents.
Floatie Friday This Friday
The in-pool lights have been delivered but are not yet installed. So come for another Floatie Friday, this Friday, 6/22, from 6 p.m.-8:30 pm. Stay tuned for Friday Movie Nights in July, starting at dusk. Join us on July 13 for “Ponyo”, July 20 for “Dolphin Tales”, and July 27 for “Hugo”.
Another Win!
Congrats to the Poolsharks for their win against Briarcliff on Tuesday! The last meet is this Tuesday, June 26, at Twin Lakes. Gooooooo, Poolsharks!
Poolshark End of Season Party Next Thursday
Watch out—the pool will be filled with a bunch of poolsharks next Thursday, June 28, from 5 p.m.-9 p.m.! They will be celebrating the end of their fantastic season.
New: Members-Only Feature for Venetian Pools Website
Yes, it is legit. If you haven’t already, you will soon be getting an e-mail from “Venetian Pools” with a link for setting up your login for the members-only portion of the Venetian Pools website: http://venetianpools.org If you don’t see it, make sure that it didn’t end up in your junk mail or spam folder. We will be adding features to this members-only part as we go. Currently you can update your contact information by clicking on “Profile” on the left-hand menu of the dashboard. Under your profile, you can make your contact information available to other members by clicking on “Members List”. When you are logged in, you will be able to access the Members-Only information on the Web Page, such as the “Members List” directory.
Toilet Etiquette
Ummm…it’s hard to know how to say this…but please monitor your children in the toilet area of the locker rooms. It’s not always a pretty sight, and everyone has to use those facilities. Also, remember that the stall marked “Dry Only” is only for those who have not been in the pool. Thanks for your attention to these matters.
Swim-a-Thon for CURE Childhood Cancer
A giant “Thanks!” goes out to everyone who participated, donated, and volunteered for the Second Annual Venetian Swim-a-Thon for CURE Childhood Cancer. We had over 25 swimmers and over $4,400 in donations. Want to help us raise more? You can still donate by going to: https://www.firstgiving.com/curechildhoodcancer/venetian-for-cure. Many thanks to the committee who coordinated the event: Rick Woodcock, John Dean, Michael Purser, Amy Power, Susan Kolodkin, and Beth, Dean, and Kate Athanassiades.
Fourth of July Celebration
Yes, it’s coming. The famous Venetian Fourth of July celebration! The pool will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with activities starting at 10:30 a.m. Look for the complete schedule posted at the pool and on the Venetian Pools website: https://venetian2.pooldues.com/?page_id=464 All of the Venetian Pools Community is invited to participate. 25 guest passes for this day are available for $25 each for purchase in advance at the front desk. They will be numbered and an ID will be required.
The potluck will be from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. No swimming will be allowed then so that all may enjoy. Bring enough to feed ten hungry people. Those with a last name starting with A-I bring a patriotic dessert, those with J-R bring a colorful salad, and those with S-Z bring a flavorful veggie dish. (Each category will award a prize.)
