Swim-a-thon
We are excited to announce that the 4th Annual Venetian Swim-a-Thon for http://www.curechildhoodcancer.org raised $3,698 on Saturday, August 16, in honor of our own beloved Poolshark, Kate Athanassiades. Kate, who is now 17, was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor in September 2010, and underwent neurosurgery, chemotherapy and radiation. She has been a Poolshark for more than 12 years, as well as a Junior Shark coach. The Athanassiades Family raised $1,535, the most donations raised by any family. Congratulations to Rick Alembik who swam 110 laps (220 lengths), with the highest lap count of the event.

40-Mile Challenge
Attention all 40 mile swimmers: If you’ve completed or exceeded your 40 miles, please come by the pool during extended swim hours, 4:30 til 7:30 weekdays, and 1 til 4 weekends, through September 30, to pick up your hoodie. Your hoodie will have your name on it and will be in a large box at the check-in. The stylish hoodies, in stunning Lap Lane Divider blue and white, have been custom embroidered [as shown by our model, an unidentified Venetian member – click on “Hoodie model” below]. Wear them with the pride of knowing you’ve achieved your summer, 2014, goal.
Lost & Found
All lost and found items will be donated after final closing day, Tuesday September 30. All items are on a table at the entrance. Please come by to check and see if you left anything behind this season.
