Work Day Thanks!
More than seventy volunteers volunteered their time on Saturday, April 26, to help get Venetian ready to open on Saturday, May 10. Projects that we completed included: extensive, annual cleaning of the men’s and women’s changing rooms; re-staining the deck; scraping and cleaning the grills; putting plants in the planters and planting beds; raking off the volleyball court so that a new layer of sand can be put down; removing lots of weeds, limbs and leftover items we no longer need; reconfiguring the snack bar. Many thanks to Michael Purser and his crew, including Joe Sands, for their work on the snack bar. Alex Schaefer is a work horse. Among other things, he got Scout Sands started on mucking out the deck drains, and she then worked for hours until the job was completed. Thanks also to Deanna Pope and Paul Ozio for overseeing our landscaping work. The only downside to mentioning these individuals is that many others also deserve mentioning. There are seventy-two names on the Work Day sign-up sheet. All of you helped us to get ready for the new season, and all of you helped Venetian Pools be a community association.
