Fall Extended Lap Swimming Sign-Up
A reminder to e-mail John Dean, email@example.com (the correct e-mail this time), to sign up for the Fall Extended Lap Swimming (no free swimming, only lap swimming) by this Monday, August 19. The cost per person will be determined by the number of people participating. In the past, it has been $25-$50 per person. The Fall Extended Lap Swim will be cancelled if there is not sufficient interest.
The Fall Extended Lap Swim hours are posted on the website and are below:
Monday – Friday September 16 – 30 4:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, Sunday September 21 – 22, 28 – 29 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
(The pool will be open for all members through Sunday, September 15. For the September pool hours, check the website.)
Board of Directors Voting
Paper ballots for the VPCA Board of Directors are now available at the Front Desk or by clicking on VPCA Board of Directors Election Ballot 2013. The nominees are (in alphabetical order): Barbara Anderson, Nick Cortese, John Dean, April Gabor, John Hall, Rob Katz, Michael Purser, Matt Smith. Their bios and pictures are in 2013 VPCA Board Nominees and are posted at the pool. On-line voting will soon also be available. Ballots may be cast until 9 p.m. on September 2.
40 Mile Challenge T-Shirt Design Voting
We always knew that there was a lot of talent among the Venetian membership, and the six great entries in the 40 Mile Swim Challenge Tee Shirt contest prove it. Voting for the design is in progress and, if you are a participant (even if you aren’t going to complete the challenge), you can vote for your favorite. By now, you should have received an email with the six designs and voting instructions. If you have not gotten the email or want more information, please firstname.lastname@example.org. All six designs will be on display at the pool in the 40 Mile Swim Challenge Record Book. Voting will end Monday, August 26.
The Pool Goes Hollywood
You may see cars and trucks at the pool this Friday morning, August 23. A Disney shoot has asked to use the pool for one of their locations. If it all works out, the pool coffers will be fuller and we will be able to see our sparkling blue beauty on screen. The pool will open for all of its Venetian superstars at its usual time of 4 p.m.
Low Country Boil
